African Spoonbill Tours – Terms and Conditions

Our Role:

  • We create and operate customer-focused tours and itineraries.
  • You’ll receive a detailed itinerary upon booking, outlining accommodations and activities.
  • We will provide the agreed-upon safari services, adjusting the itinerary if necessary due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g., road closures, weather, safety).
  • We strive to maintain the itinerary’s quality and character.
  • Please note that conditions in Africa may differ from those in developed countries, including potential changes in government fees and taxes.

Agreement and Pricing:

  • Booking, payment, or participation signifies your acceptance of these terms.
  • The final agreement includes these terms and any written updates provided before departure.
  • Prices are in USD per person, unless otherwise specified.
  • Prices include park fees, ground transportation, accommodations, and English-speaking guides.
  • Excluded are international flights (available upon request), visas (assistance available), personal items, tips, souvenirs, drinks, laundry, and travel insurance.
  • We may use independent suppliers for tour elements.

Payments and Bookings:

  • A 30% deposit is required within 4 days of invoice receipt to confirm your booking.
  • The remaining balance is due 30 days before the tour begins.
  • Payments can be made via bank transfer or credit card (with a 4% surcharge).
  • Book early to secure your desired tour.
  • Provide accurate client information (nationality, date of birth, passport details).
  • Confirmed tours are non-transferable.

Cancellations and Changes:

  • Cancellation fees apply:
    • 65+ days: Deposit non-refundable.
    • 50-65 days: 50% of the tour cost.
    • 0-50 days: 100% of the tour cost.
  • Changes to confirmed bookings incur a $150 fee.

Liability and Responsibilities:

  • We act as agents for tours, accommodations, and transportation.
  • We are not liable for injury, death, delays, or losses due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g., weather, civil unrest, wildlife).
  • We are not responsible for supplier issues (e.g., overbooking, transportation failures).
  • Liability for our vehicles is governed by local law.
  • We may use independent suppliers, and are not responsible for activities they provide.
  • We are not liable for personal belongings.
  • We are responsible only for services we directly provide.
  • We are not responsible for infrastructure issues in developing countries (e.g., power cuts, water shortages).
  • We accept responsibility for negligent acts of our employees, agents and direct suppliers, which results in death, injury or illness.
  • Claims must be submitted in writing within one month of your return.
  • We follow national park rules and baggage restrictions.

General Information:

  • Consult your doctor regarding health and vaccinations.
  • Ensure your passport is valid for at least six months.
  • Visas are required and are not included in the tour price.
  • Flight schedule changes may affect the itinerary.
  • Hotel room access is subject to availability.
  • Tips are discretionary.
  • We may cancel trips due to emergencies beyond our control.
  • We recommend travel insurance.

Complaints and Laws:

  • Report any issues to your booking manager immediately.
  • Submit written complaints within 10 days of return.
  • This contract is governed by Tanzanian law.
