Your adventure begins with a morning pickup in Iringa, followed by a scenic drive toward the vast wilderness of Ruaha National Park. As you enter the park, the landscape opens into sweeping savannahs, ancient baobab forests, and rugged hills—home to one of Tanzania’s largest elephant populations. You’ll enjoy your first game viewing session along the way, with the chance to spot lions, giraffes, zebras, and a wide range of antelope species. As the sun begins to set, you’ll settle into your accommodation at Ruaha River Lodge or Msembe Bandas, where dinner awaits under the serenity of the African night sky.

Keep your camera ready for predators such as lions, leopards, and cheetahs, as well as the park’s abundant elephants and buffalo. You may encounter predators returning from a night of hunting or herbivores beginning their daily movements across the plains. After returning to camp for lunch and some midday relaxation, you’ll head out again in the late afternoon for a sunset game drive. This magical time of day offers warm, golden light and increased animal movement before nightfall. Dinner and overnight at Ruaha River Lodge or Msembe Bandas.
