About the Destination

Spanning approximately 370 sq. km, Lake Mburo is unique for its lack of elephants and lions, which has allowed the acacia forests to flourish and created a safe environment for walking and cycling safaris. It is a world-class birding destination with over 350 species, including the rare African Finfoot. The park is also famous for its high leopard density and its cultural connection to the local Bahima people and their iconic long-horned Ankole cattle.
