About the Destination
Formed nearly three million years ago when a giant volcano collapsed, the crater floor spans 260 sq. km and sits 600 meters below the rim. It is home to over 25,000 large mammals, including one of the densest predator populations in Africa. Beyond the crater, the NCA encompasses the Olduvai Gorge—the "Cradle of Mankind" and the shifting volcanic sands, making it as much a prehistoric treasure as it is a wildlife sanctuary.
