About the Destination
The park takes its name from the Tarangire River, which serves as the primary water source for thousands of animals during the dry months. Spanning roughly 2,850 sq. km, it offers a more intimate and less crowded safari experience than the Serengeti. Visitors are often struck by the park's biological diversity, which includes over 550 bird species and rare antelopes like the fringe-eared oryx and the long-necked gerenuk, which are seldom seen elsewhere in Tanzania.
